Foreign Policy

  • Grant every person, everywhere, the same basic rights that we grant US citizens.
  • Refocus the military on national defense, not protection of overseas corporate investments
  • No more black-ops coups to displace leaders with whom we disagree
  • Renew US commitment to no first use of nuclear weapons
  • Increase focus on defensive cyber-security to protect governmental, corporate, financial, and private citizen data
  • Protect social media from manipulation by foreign and domestic agents that spread misinformation
  • End economic imperialism
    • Focus foreign policy on enabling the self-sufficiency of developing countries.
    • Change current World Bank and IMF rules regarding loans to countries that implement tariffs and other trade barriers to permit protection of domestic industries in order to allow them to survive global competition.
  • Provide aid to counties to develop renewable energy resources and other sustainable practices.

Discussion

The Declaration says that “all men (since acknowledged to include women) are created equal, and are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights”. It does not say all US citizens

As Biden said, “I believe at our best America is a beacon for the globe. And we lead not by the example of our power, but by the power of our example.” There is nothing preventing us from exemplifying our best both internally and externally, at the same time. In fact, it would be hypocritical not to.
